How does Renal Failure cause respiratory disorders?

1. Shortness of breath

To be frank, anemia can contribute to shortness of breath. In generally, the kidneys can produce to a hormone called erythropoietin to produce red blood cells. When red blood cells cannot be deliver to brain and kidneys, patients are at high risk to develop into shortness of breath.

2. Difficulty in breath or breathless

Metabolic acidosis can cause breathing difficulty, poor appetite, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, etc. In addition, kidney failure patients are prone to suffer from pleural disease and patients can have pleural rub, chest pain or discomfort, difficulty in breathing or fever.

3. Asthma

Renal failure patients often have low immunity and they are more susceptible to various infections and viruses. If patients have bronchitis or viral pneumonia, they may suffer from asthma.

In addition, patients are also suffer from ammonia breath and metallic taste in mouth, orthopnea and aroxysmal cough and so on.
