For example, cold due to viral infection is the most common cause of sore throat. Therefore, if MCNS patients’ sore throat is caused by common cold, they don’t need to worry. This is because drinking enough water and taking correct medications can help manage this problem effectively.

However, patients with Nephrotic Syndrome usually have a high risk of sore throat because of their low immune ability. Three conditions can result in low immunity for patients with minimal change Nephrotic Syndrome.

The second one is malnutrition. With kidney disease, patients are always recommended to develop a low-protein diet. However, if restricted protein intake too strictly, malnutrition occurs to result in low immune ability.

The last one is side effects of some medications. Steroids and immunosuppressants are often used to treat MCNS, but these medications will weaken patients’ immune system and increase the risk of infections and sore throat.
