Minimal Change Disease: Cause, Symptoms, Test, Treatment, Prognosis

Minimal change disease can lead to Nephrotic Syndrome or IgA Nephropathy, without a good control. Read on and find its cause, symptoms, test, treatment and prognosis.


Minimal change disease is a common autoimmune kidney damage. In other words, its root cause relates to the underlying immune disorder. In normal condition, the immune system works to remove the bacteria from the body. However, in people with immune disorder, the poor immune system fails to prevent the attacking of bacteria outside, causing the bacteria deposition in the blood.

Due to the blood circulation, the bacteria may be carried to the kidney tissues, causing inflammation in the kidneys. This is how minimal change disease happens.

If you have one of the following diseases, you are more likely to develop this disease.

As the minimal change disease develops, there may occur some symptoms as follows.
