List of Foods to Avoid with 3rd Stage CKDAt Stage 3 Chronic Kidney Disease, kidney filtering dysfunction is moderate and symptoms are mild. If you know you have 3rd Stage CKD, you can help your kidneys function with greater efficiently by reworking your diet and avoiding specific foods.

3rd Stage CKD see certain common dietary limitations such as controlled intake of protein (0.6-0.8 gram per kilo of body weight), sodium (1-3.5 g/day), potassium (2-4 g/day) and phosphorus (up to 1000 mg/day).

List of foods that should be avoided for a person with 3rd Stage CKD include:

Asparagus, avocado, bacon, beer, boullion, canned foods, chips, chocolate, convenience foods, dairy products, fast foods, frozen meals, hot dogs, ketchup, kidney beans, luncheon meats, marinades, pickled foods (like olives, sauerkraut,etc), processed cheese, pumpkin, salted snacks, table salt, tamari and so on.

Limit foods high in oxalate acid to avoid developing a variety of kidney stones. These foods include instant coffee, tea, tofu, beets, peanuts, oranges, sweet potatoes, beans, chocolate, dark leafy green vegetables, draft beer, and concord grapes.
