Management of Leg Cramping in Dialysis

Management of Leg Cramping in DialysisDialysis patients always experience side effects like shortness of breath, muscle cramping, dizziness, itchy skin, nausea, headache and sleep disorder, etc. This article is specially about management of leg cramping in dialysis.

Cause of leg cramping in dialysis

Dialysis patients tend to experience cramps in the lower extremities, but they can occur in the hands, arms and abdominal muscles as well. Although the exact cause is unknown, multiple causes have been proposed, including volume contraction (getting “too dry”), low blood sodium concentration, low body magnesium and carnitine deficiency.

Management of leg cramping in dialysis

There is something that can be done when you get leg cramping on dialysis. Taking hypertonic saline or mannitol or massage and moist heat is helpful. However, these are only help you get some reliefs but cannot solve the underlying problem.

If we can do something to prevent these things happen, why do we wait these problems to happen?

What if you can reduce or even stop dialysis?

How to stop dialysis?

Root cause of kidney damage is ischemia and anoxia inside kidneys. Dialysis can only replace kidneys to filter blood wastes, but cannot repair damage renal tissues. In our hospital, Shijiazhuang Kidney Disease Hospital, we mainly use Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy is a commonly used therapy. It can increase blood circulation so that kidney tissues can get enough blood volume and oxygen to function well. In addition, Medicated Bath, Foot Bath, Acupuncture and Hot Compress Therapy are commonly used methods. They can all protect and improve kidney function. As long as patient’s kidney function can be improved to higher than 15%, they do not need dialysis. Then, they won’t suffer from any side effects of dialysis.

I have to tell you that these therapies are only available in China now. Patients need to come to China for treatment. If you are interested, add my Whatsapp/Viber 008618330162295 .
