- Acute or chronic loss of red blood cells like bleeding

- Shortened lifespan of red blood cells like hemolysis and deposits of waste products and toxins

- The decline of red blood cell formation

White blood cell is an important part of the body’s defense system, and low white blood cell count is usually related to some infectious disease, blood disease, autoimmune disorder, paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria, chronic physical injury, and so on.

Blood platelet count is usually used to judge whether patients have bleeding tendency or ability to bring bleeding to an end. For hemodialysis patients, low blood platelet count is common to see. This is because deposits of toxins and waste products can damage blood platelet, renal anemia causes the decline of platelet formation and consumption of blood platelet increases.
