Diabetes: Kidney Shrinkage, Low Blood Pressure, Electrolyte Disorder, Proteinuria

Q: I am 55 years of age having diabetes from last 27 years. Off late on 16th of January, 2013 I had Angioplasty and accordingly was detected with high creatinine level of 7.1, Hb (Haemoglobin) 9.7 gm/dl, creatinine Serum: 6.6 mg/dl. I do not have swelling of any kind in my feet or else where! Protein in urine was ++++ during last report.

For the Ultrasound test report, your left kidney is smaller than your right kidney. Maybe there is a slightly shrink of your kidneys. But you still have the chance. Some patients with Kidney Failure may have less than 8cm kidneys, so your condition is much better than them.

From the blood test, your blood pressure level is lower than the normal range. That's to say you have the anemia problem. You know our kidneys have the function of secrets erythropoietin to guarantee enough blood in our body. Your kidney has been damaged, that's why you have the anemia problem.

For the electrolyte in your body, it has the disorder problem.Your potassium level is higher than normal range, but calcium level is lower than normal range. You may have the heart problem if your potassium level is so high. You need regulator your internal environment to maintain the electrolyte balance in your body.

From your urine test, you have too much protein in your urine. Only patients with the last stage of the Diabetes will have this problem. So early treatment is needed. You also have the Pus cells in your body, that's to say, you may have the infection problem. So you are suggested to take some medicine to well control it, otherwise, it may aggravate the progress of the disease.

For your problem, only control the blood sugar level or just lower your creatinine level is not enough. You need the systematic treatment to treat your problem from root. I suggest Chinese Medicine and Immune treatment for your problem. For further help, you can leave a message below.
