Causes

▪ Blood clotting abnormalities. This usually occur in Stage 4 CKD patients accompanied by uremic syndrome. Easy bruising, and bleeding that are out of proportion to the level of injury are common. Frequent nosebleeds are also common.

▪ Vitamin deficiencies. A lack of certain vitamins, especially K and C, can contribute to the nose-bleeding mechanisms. Deficiencies of vitamin B-9, B-12, and A can also increase risk of this problem.

▪ High blood pressure. Very high blood pressure for an extant periods is also a cause for a bloody nose. Combination of nose bleeding and hypertension is a dangerous condition.

Other cause that may initiate the problem also include medicine side effects (drugs that contain blood thinning ingredients), excessive consumption of alcohol, infections, and anemia, etc.

Management
