CKD Stage 3 Symptoms

Chronic Kidney Disease can be divided into five stages. CKD stage 3 is a middle stage of kidney disease. The followings are the common symptoms in CKD stage 3.

High blood pressure

Renal high blood pressure is usually present in stage 3 Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD). It associated with two factors. As a lot of fluid can not be excreted from body, it will cause increased blood flow which can attribute to high blood pressure. In addition, the kidneys can not secrete renin which can regulate blood pressure.


For moderate kidney damage in stage 3 Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD),

The kidneys lose their ability to control how much fluid stays in the body. The patients may notice swelling in their lower legs, hands or face around the eyes. With too much fluid, they could even suffer from short breath.


Anemia is one of common symptoms of stage 3 Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD). In this stage, a mass of urmic toxins accumulate in blood which can shorten the life expectancy of the red blood cells. Moreover, the patients often are accompanied by poor appetite, anemia and nausea etc so the patients can not get efficient raw materials of blood.

Urination changes

The urine may be filled with foams if there is protein in it. Also the urine may become red, tea-colored or brown for red blood cells if it contains red blood cells.


For anemia, the patients usually feel quite tired and have no energy.

Sleep disorder

In stage 3 Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), the patients usually suffer from sleep disorder and may keep awake all the night. Itching, muscle or restless legs are mainly attributable to this problem.
