Kidney Disease And Hot Flashes

Kidney Disease And Hot FlashesHot flash with kidney disease is not so common. Patients may have no idea about this physical condition. This article is to provide you some information about the causes and treatments. You can also contact our doctor online for more guidances.

Cause

Hot flash may have several other causes, but it is often caused by the changed hormone levels that are characteristic of menopause in women. It happens because of blood circulation disorders. When the balance of blood vessel’s contraction and relaxation is broken, the body cannot remove heat adequately. At this time, both the hormone and blood calcium level become low.

If people get kidney deficiency, the generation of hormone is reduced. On this point, hot flash is related to kidney disease.

Symptoms

People who have hot flash typically experience a feeling of intense heat with sweating and rapid heartbeat, and the sensation of heat begins in the face or chest, sometimes in the neck and back. If it gets severe, people may feel it difficult to sleep and may have depression, allergy, dizziness and headache.

This physical condition typically lasts from two to thirty minutes for each occurrence. Some people may live with hot flash for several years.

Precautions

To prevent hot flashes, avoid these triggers:

- Stress

- Caffeine

- Alcohol

- Spicy foods

- Tight clothing

- Heat

- Cigarette smoke

Treatment

Talk to your doctor about taking short-term (less than five years) hormone replacement therapy, or HRT. However, even short-term hormone therapy carries some risks, including blood clots and gallbladder inflammation. There is another natural alternative- Hot Compress Therapy.
