CKD Stage4: How Much Protein I Should Have

When people is early diagnosed with Kidney Disease, the doctor usually advises his or her patient to limit the intake of protein food, because much protein foods will increase the labor of the damaged kidneys. CKD Stage4 and Protein Intake

Restricted protein intake is suggested for patients with CKD stage through stage IV. And the protein intake is restricted in the stage IV, before dialysis is necessary.

In CKD stage4, the dietary protein in suggested as low as 10%, however, you are suggested to consult your doctor as this number can be changed due to different individuals. Vegan diet seems a better choice than average diet for it contains 10%~12% protein which is less than that of the latter one --14%~18%.

Patients with CKD stage 4 are suggested to take a very restricted protein Diet for excess protein at this stage will easily cause vomiting, nausea, poor appetite, itching, weakness etc.
