Details: I have a 3.68 * 2.95 cm cyst is seen in the left kidney upper pole. Now, I have back pain. Is it due to my kidney cyst?

Expert Answer

Kidney cyst is one common kidney disorder. If kidney cyst is too big, it will oppress its surrounding kidney tissues and pull kidney nerves easily, resulting in back pain. Besides, kidney cyst rupture is another cause of back pain for patients with renal cyst.

Since you have cyst in the left kidney upper pole, your back pain is more likely to be caused by this problem. To determine the cause, you are suggested to do more test including B ultrasound, blood test and urine test. If your back pain is indeed caused by kidney cyst, you should take action to manage this cyst immediately.

Surgery is one common treatment for patients with kidney cyst, but it can only remove large kidney cyst. However, kidney cyst may relapse again. If you would like, you can try traditional Chinese medicine. Some Chinese medicines can help increase the permeability of cystic walls and prompt the reabsorption of sac fluid. Finally, kidney cyst becomes smaller and smaller. The key is to take correct medicines.

If you need, you can ask help from doctor online to determine which medicines are suitable for you.
