Details: I suddenly had pink color urine for about two days. My KFT tests are OK. USG shows no stones but kidneys with a cortical cyst 3.5cm. What could be the reason for my blood urine?
As described by you, your pink color urine is more likely to have a close link with your 3.5cm renal cortical cyst. This is because three conditions.
- Rupture of kidney cyst: The pressure from surrounding kidney tissues may cause cortical cyst to rupture easily. In addition to clear sac fluid, some blood may also be found in kidney cyst. Once the cyst ruptures, blood will spread to urinary tract or other organs.
- Rupture of kidney blood vessels: Kidneys consist of numerous capillaries, so enlarged kidney cysts may cause capillaries to rupture easily. This is one reason of pink color urine.
- Urinary tract infections: Urinary tract infection and blood urine often coexist, so patients with renal cortical cyst may find they have blood urine with urinary tract infection.
Different reasons need different methods to deal with. To manage your blood urine correctly, you should find out the underlying cause. If you are not sure, you can ask help online.
