Posted: by Dr.Zhao Time: 2015-03-20 08:44

Topics: Hypertensive Nephropathy High BUN Level

Details: Dear Sir/Madam, I need your help. My mother got admitted in the hospital with hypertension (high BP 200/130). The blood test shows creatinine 6.2 and urea 125 mg/dl. What should we do?

Expert Answer

High blood pressure 200/130 is so dangerous that your mother needs emergent treatments. Since both her creatinine and urea levels in the blood are quite higher than the normal, it means her kidneys have been damaged severely. If your mother has a long-term hypertensive history, her kidney damage is more likely to be due to high blood pressure.

In view of this, the treatment should begin from two aspects: lowering high blood pressure and protect the residual kidney functioning tissues.

To lower kidney disease patient’s high blood pressure, only depending on anti-hypertensive medications may not work fairly effectively. In view of this, patients can try Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy. This external application of Chinese medicine can help expand blood vessels, so as to reduce the pressure on vascular walls. What’s more, this therapy has no side effects, so patients can use it safely.

In addition to expanding blood vessels, this therapy also has the properties of anti-inflammation, anti-coagulation and degrading extracellular matrix. That is to say, it can help improve kidney function and lower high creatinine and urea levels.

In order to strengthen the therapeutic effects of the whole treatment, Medicated Bath, Cycle Therapy, Hot Compress Therapy, and so on, may also be needed.
