Topics: Stage 4 CKD Treatment Stage 4 CKD

Details: My child is 13 years old in Stage 4 CKD, and now his kidney function is left 20%, both kidneys affected. What should we do?

Expert Answer

From your analysis, we can’t determine what causes your child’s kidney problem and whether he was born with chronic kidney disease or not. If his kidney disease is congenital, it will be more difficult to deal with it.

Now, what we can do is to protect the remaining kidney function and stop the continue decline of kidney function. The longer your child’s kidney function higher than 15%, the longer he can live without dialysis and kidney transplant.

To get more detailed treatment suggestion, you should email your child’s test report to kidneyservice@hotmail.com or kidneyservice@hotmail.com. Therefore, kidney experts can give you the best treatment option.

In our hospital, we mainly use traditional Chinese medicine methods to save damaged kidneys. With the progress of kidney disease, some inherent kidney cells are only damaged but not necrotic cells. Thereby, medicines that can provide enough nutrition and oxygen for inherent kidney cells and regulate the internal environment are unable to achieve the recovery of impaired kidney cells gradually. In severe cases, Stem Cell Therapy may also be used to rebuild kidney structure.

Hopefully, your child can also get improvement through the above methods.
