Treatments for eGFR 58 and Creatinine 127 in IgA Nephropathy

Posted: by Dr.Zhao Time: 2014-09-09 00:56

Topics: IgA Nephropathy

Details: I am 37, eGFR 58, creatinine 127 and proteinuria around 200 mg/24h. I have had 3 occasions of bloody coca cola urine in the past. I am just in limbo now. Can you give me some helpful advice?

Expert Answer

Please, don’t worry. Bloody coca cola urine along with proteinuria is the typical sign of IgA Nephropathy. Since your eGFR is still higher than 50 and creatinine level is a little higher than the normal value, it means your illness condition is not very severe and effective treatments indeed can help deal with IgA Nephropathy successfully.

As we know, IgA Nephropathy is caused by the deposits of IgA in glomerular mesangial area. To stop these immune complexes from damaging inherent kidney tissues continuously, it needs to remove these substances from the body. Then, what we should do is to fix damaged but not necrotic kidney cells.

According to the above requirements, Immunotherapy is one good choice. Different from conventional steroids and immunosuppressants, Immunotherapy is one combination of western medicine and Chinese medicines. Because of strong immunological characteristics, it shows one great superiority on treating kidney disease caused by immune disorder. Once damaged kidney cells are recovered, your eGFR will increase and creatinine level will decline naturally.

The above is one general introduction of Immunotherapy. If you want to know the detailed steps of this therapy and therapeutic effects, you can consult the doctor online.
