Does Patient with Creatinine 5.2 and Uric Acid 8.1 Need Dialysis

Posted: by Dr.Zhao Time: 2014-07-28 09:12

Topics: High Creatinine Level

Details: I have kidney disease, my creatinine level is 5.2, uric acid is 8.1 and urea level is 104. Which stage I am in? Do I need dialysis?

Expert Answer

As you describe, your serum creatinine, uric acid and urea levels are all higher than the normal values. This means kidneys are damaged seriously. Dialysis is indeed one helpful method to eliminate these small molecular substances. However, dialysis is unable to improve kidney condition, and creatinine, uric acid and urea must deposit in the blood again during dialysis sessions.

Today, we are here to recommend some alternative treatment options to dialysis for kidney patients.

1. Blood Purification: In addition to dialysis, immune adsorption, plasma exchange, hemofiltration, CRRT, etc, all can help cleanse the polluted blood. Compared with hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis, blood purification can cleanse blood more thoroughly.

2. Clear Blood Pollution Therapy: It is one combination of blood purification and Chinese medicines. Therefore, this therapy can not only remove waste products and toxins, just as dialysis does, but also rebuild kidney structure and repair damaged kidney cells.

Different patients should choose their treatment according to their illness condition. If you want to know which therapy is best for you, you can consult the doctor online.
