Posted: by zhaoshaoning Time: 2014-05-22 06:44

Topics: High Creatinine Level

Details: I am 69 years old and female. My serum urea is 61mg/dl and serum creatinine is 1.8mg/dl. Please, tell me whether it is dangerous?

Expert Answer

From your description, we can know your urea and creatinine levels both are higher than the normal. It is more likely to indicate that you have kidney problem. However, please, don’t worry, because they are still not dangerous. In this case, the urgent thing you need to do is to protect your remaining kidney function and lower your high urea and creatinine level.

Have you got some treatments or medications? If not, I can suggest you some effective treatments to improve your illness condition. Firstly, find out the underlying causes such as high blood pressure, diabetes or inflammatory reactions. Secondly, take some medications. Ketosteril, diuretic, dandelion root, nettle leaf, corn silk, etc, all can increase the glomerular filtration rate so that more urea and creatinine can be discharged out of the body. Finally, some medications need to be taken. Some Chinese medicines have the effect of improving the self-curative ability of damaged kidney cells and expanding blood vessels for supplying enough nutrition and oxygen for damaged kidney cells.

To give you more detailed treatment options, we need to know more about your illness condition. If you want to lower your urea and creatinine level, you can have a further talk with doctor online.
