Kidney Failure with Creatinine 8.6 and Urea 268.5: Is Dialysis Helpful

Posted: by zhaoshaoning Time: 2014-05-02 08:17

Topics: Dialysis High Creatinine Level

Details: I was diagnosed with Kidney Failure in 2002. Now, my blood tests show creatinine 8.6 and urea 268.5. My doctor recommends me to begin dialysis. Is it a must?

Expert Answer

From your description, your creatinine and urea level is so high that your kidneys must be unable to eliminate waste products and toxins effectively. In this case, some kidney replacement therapies or kidney repairing treatments are needed. This doesn’t mean dialysis is a must for you.

Since you only tell me your creatinine and urea levels, I need to know more about your medical condition and give you some personalized treatment suggestions. ( If you have test report in hand, you can tell me your blood pressure, phosphorus, potassium and hemoglobin levels.)

Here are some treatment options that you can choose.

1. Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy: With the effects of anti-inflammation, anti-coagulation, expanding blood vessels and degrading extracellular matrix, this therapy can help protect remaining kidney function cells and repair damaged but not necrotic kidney cells.

2. Clear Blood Pollution Therapy: Compared with conventional treatments, Blood Pollution Therapy focuses on cleansing blood before dealing with inherent kidney cells. Therefore, high creatinine level and urea level can reduce naturally.

3. Stem Cell Therapy: At present, CIK cells and interleukin 12 are proven to be safe in clinic. In the body, these cells can differentiate into damaged cells. For kidney patients, this therapy can help rebuild kidney structure.
