Topics: Creatinine

Details: Last month my creatinine level 3.50 only and now 4.20mg, my kidney disease IgA nephropathy. How can I lower high creatinine levels via vegetables and fruits?

Expert Answer

Your serum potassium is too high. When taking high potassium food and vegetables, you can boil them in clear water for about 3-5 minutes and then cook with oil. Coffee and tea contains high potassium and should be avoided.

The following fruits and vegetalbes should be avoided.

High potassium vegetables: green vegetables like spinach, water spinach, three-colored amaranth, mushrooms, nori, kelp, carrot and potatoes.

High potassium fruits: bananas, tomatoes, dates, oranges, mango, persimmon, star fruit, etc.

Low potassium fruits: pine apple, pawpaw, water melon, strawberry, lemon etc. But these fruits should not be eaten a lot either.
