Expert Answer

Hi, Sherri, there are lots of things you can do to stop the progression of Stage 4 CKD, so you can live a long and fulfilling life. Here are some tips:

1. Control your blood sugar level well by taking medications and following the diet as prescribed;

2. Eat a correct diet. Ask your doctor for a personalized diet or Email us at kidneyservice@hotmail.com with your test report. Then, we can reply you with the best meal plan.

3. Include herbs to improve the kidneys. If you would like to take herbs, you can consider corn silk, dandelion, uva ursi, red clover, etc. Consult your doctor before taking these herbs.

4. Adopt systematic treatments to improve your gfr/kidney function. Available therapies include Immunotherapy, acupuncture, medicated bath, and Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy.
