IgA Nephropathy with Sore Throat and Protein Leakage

IgA Nephropathy with Sore Throat and Protein LeakageSore throat and protein leakage, also known as proteinuria, often affects IgA Nephropathy patients’ health condition. If left alone, these two problems will worsen IgA Nephropathy and induce some other problems easily. Once you have these disorders, try to learn more about them here.

As we all know, IgA Nephropathy is caused by IgA combined with antigens depositing in the kidney filters, glomeruli. IgA is one immunoglobulin produced by glands around the throat that can fight off infections. However, if the body produces too much IgA, it may disturb the immune system and IgA Nephropathy occurs easily. For IgA Nephropathy patients, upper respiratory infection is one common complication, while sore throat is just one sign of this complication. Furthermore, if patients don’t drink enough water, they may get inflamed and sore throat.

Protein leakage is attributed to damaged glomerular filtration system, and it usually presents foamy urine or bubbles in urine. If uncontrolled effectively, protein leakage may trigger malnutrition, swelling, hair loss, nail changes, and many other problems.

In view of this, patients should take effective treatments to manage sore throat and protein leakage, and the following methods are worth a try.

1. Drink enough water: If patients can still urinate normally, they should drink enough water to flush the body so as to prevent infections including upper respiratory infections.

2. Take in high-quality protein foods: High-quality protein can provide essential amino acids and won’t produce extra waste products.

3. Eat correct medications as doctors guide: If diet plan can’t manage throat infections effectively, patients need to take some antibiotics. Similarly, patients need to take some medicines such as steroids and immunosuppressants to inhibit protein leakage.

4. Accept Immunotherapy: This therapy can treat IgA Nephropathy from the root through removing IgA, regulating immune system and reversing kidney damage. Then, impaired kidney cells can come back to normal gradually.

Some other treatments can also help manage sore throat and proteinuria. If you want to learn more, you can contact us directly through emailing to kidneyservice@hotmail.com or leaving a message in the message board.
