Why Do IgA Nephropathy Patients Have High PTH and Itchiness

Why Do IgA Nephropathy Patients Have High PTH and ItchinessIgA Nephropathy is one glomerular disorder. As time goes on, patients’ kidney function is lost gradually. High PTH level and skin itchiness are two common complications of low kidney function. Why do IgA Nephropathy patients have these two problems?

Firstly, both of high PTH level and itchiness have a close link with deposits of extra phosphorus in the blood. When inflammatory reactions caused by buildup of IgA and other immune complexes attack kidneys severely, kidney filtering system is unable to remove excessive amount of phosphorus from the body normally. Then, blood phosphorus level increases, resulting in the elevation of PTH level and onset of skin itchiness.

Secondly, high PTH may be also attributed to vitamin D deficiency. The diseased kidneys are unable to activate vitamin D as efficiently as healthy kidneys. Without enough activated vitamin D, the body can’t absorb calcium from the intestines. Then, blood calcium level declines that stimulate the parathyroids to produce more PTH.

Lastly, with the aggravation of IgA Nephropathy, hyperparathyroidism often develops. This results in high PTH level and skin itching easily.

From the above analysis, we have known the causes of high PTH and itchiness for IgA Nephropathy patients. The next thing we need to do is to deal with these two problems, according to the causes.

To keep the calcium-phosphorus balance, patients should avoid high-phosphorus foods but eat relatively more high-calcium foods. If necessary, patients should take some phosphate binders to help discharge extra phosphorus.

Then, some systemic kidney repairing treatments are needed. Since IgA Nephropathy is caused by abnormal immune system, the combination of Immunotherapy and Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy is helpful. They are based on TCM but also absorb the essence of western medicine that can not only remove immune complexes but also repair damaged kidney cells and regulate immune system. Therefore, IgA Nephropathy can be treated from the root.

If you are experiencing IgA Nephropathy and its complications. Hopefully, you are the next one to get rid of this disease as soon as possible. Don’t worry. Many kidney experts here can help you.
